I am so excited to have my little bears turn over the tags each morning and getting excited to see how many days we have left till Christmas. I wanted to add a little ribbon to the sides of my corkboard making it look like a present. So one at a time worked best for me! Step 7 – Finishing TouchesĪfter I had all my tags finished I added them onto the corkboard making sure they were all lined up perfectly ( or as perfect as I could get them). I made the mistake of doing 6 at one time and the glue and glitter started to build up and it was hard taking the snowflake off. Quick Tip: I made sure I did each snowflake one at a time. I immediately pulled my snowflake up and placed it on my tag. Then sprinkled some fine glitter over top. Make sure you have enough for the number of days until Christmas. If you know me then you know I love “ Sparkle“! I pulled out some spray adhesive and “ lightly” sprayed each snowflake with the glue. Cut strips of red and green paper, about an inch wide. Once I had my snowflakes printed off on my vinyl I decided I wanted to add a little “ Sparkle“. Next, use your circle stencil to draw 25 different circles that will be your ornaments. It can say whatever you want I chose, Christmas Countdown.

I saw these awesome snowflakes on Lil’ Luna and had to download them so I could use for the other side. If you don’t have a Silhouette then a stencil or even number stickers would work great! I wanted to go with a basic and legible font. Then I firmly pressed it on my tag using my scoring tool ( or credit card will work). Therefore, we can officially count down the days until Christmas. I printed off my numbers using my Silhouette. I recently painted my Tiffany inspired Fall pumpkins the same color and LOVED it! Such and beautiful color and really looks great with the red. At the last minute I decided I wanted to incorporate one of my favorite blue colors to the tags.
I painted two costs of white paint front and back on my tags. Voila!! It went on the corkboard perfectly! I pulled out my “Handy Dandy” hot glue gun and dabbed a little glue on the back of each clothespin and firmly pressed it down. I had clothespins leftover from a previous project so they were already spray painted. I love finding ways to engage my kids in the Holiday season.Quick Tip: Make sure you spray paint your clothespins white before adding your washi tape. I know my daughter is going to love rushing downstairs to change the block each day. I sprayed another coat of lacquer and they were finished! (The 6 will double as a 9, so make sure you practice before you paint if you plan to freehand!) If you don’t have stamps or feel comfortable free handing, you can use the same method we used for the DIY Painted Sign by printing out the numbers, rubbing chalk on the back, tracing the outline, and filling it in. When they were completely dry, I painted the numbers based on a font I found online. I did this so that I could reuse these blocks for other countdowns – a countdown to Disney World, to Easter, or to our next camping trip. I applied a coat of chalkboard paint to a small section of the front of the largest block. We finished with a spray lacquer and let them dry overnight. Then we sanded and stained all the blocks. We layered those two blocks on top of a third length to measure and cut it down to size. Note that the actual size of the board is only about 3.5″ x 3.5″, so measure your boards before you make any cuts. We had a few cut pieces left over from our DIY Giant Summer Yard Dice, but if you don’t, cut two cubes out of the 4″ x 4″ board.
